The 1460 is the original Dr. Martens boot. Its boot's recognizable DNA looks like this: 8 eyes, classic Dr. Martens Smooth leather, grooved sides, a heel-loop, yellow stitching, and a comfortable, air-cushioned sole. Built to last, this unisex boot is made using one of the finest methods of construction: the Goodyear Welt — which means the upper and sole are sewn together in our heat-sealed z-welt stitch. The boot sits on our iconic AirWair™ sole, which is oil and fat resistant with good abrasion and slip resistance, and is made with Smooth, a lightly textured, highly durable leather with a soft sheen.
MATERIAL
Hardwearing and famously tough, our Smooth leather can be polished to shine or scuffed up. It’s up to you.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Clean Away dirt using a damp cloth, allow to dry apply correct coloured wax based shoe polish to restore shine as desired.
CONSTRUCTION
A pillar of DM's construction. Our Original and most recognisable sole. A height of 1.25 / 3.17CM — marked by traditional DMS tread pattern that's unique to Dr. Martens. One of our most flexible soles, well known for its comfort and stability.
This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
